Can I replace a breaker with a higher amp rating to stop it from tripping?
No — that's one of the most common and dangerous electrical mistakes. The breaker is sized to the wire, not the appliance. A 15-amp wire with a 20-amp breaker will allow the wire to carry more current than it's rated for before the breaker trips, which is a fire condition. If the breaker is tripping under normal load, the circuit is overloaded and needs to be redesigned — not bypassed with a larger breaker.
