No — that's classic seasonal expansion, and solid wood doors do this. The fix depends on where it's binding. If it binds at the latch edge, a slight plane on that edge handles it. If it binds at the top, the top rail may need a pass. We shave the minimum material needed to free the door without creating a gap in winter.
The strike plate hole and the latch bolt are misaligned — usually by less than ¼ inch. We either adjust the strike plate position or file the strike plate opening slightly. It's a quick fix that makes a significant difference in how the door feels and whether it actually latches securely.
